Manuscript inquiries are open. House of the Broken Bread is reviewing a limited number of manuscript inquiries as we build our catalog. We are open to a range of genres and voices, but we are selective about quality, author fit, production readiness, and whether HBB is the right publishing home for the work. Most inquiries receive a response within 6–8 weeks.
Before you write
- —We accept completed manuscripts only. No partials or proposals.
- —Word count: 60,000–120,000 words for fiction; 40,000–100,000 for nonfiction.
- —Send a brief introduction and tell us about your manuscript. No attachments at this stage.
- —We respond to every inquiry, even when it's not a fit.
